Herzberg Theory of Motivation

Motivation serves as the driving force behind every success. Delving into different motivation models allows organizations to tap into fullest potential of their teams. In order to effectively motivate team members, an organization needs to address both “must-have” and “should-have” factors. Let’s delve into Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory to understand this concept further.

Hertzberg classified the needs into two broad categories: namely HYGIENE FACTORS and MOTIVATING FACTORS:
• poor hygiene factors may destroy motivation but improving them under most circumstances will not improve team motivation
• hygiene factors only are not sufficient to motivate people, but motivator factors are also required

In the workplace, mastering the art of boosting morale and enhancing productivity among team members is crucial. By employing effective motivation strategies, we can propel our teams toward greater success.
